What we cover

Cyber Defense Insights covers actionable cyber defense: confirmed exploitation, vulnerability disclosures, breaches and evidenced defensive responses for IT teams. Our intended readers are security practitioners and IT administrators.

The question guiding this desk is: What is affected, what is confirmed about exploitation or impact, and which official response is available?

What readers should get

We aim to connect a reported development with the details needed to understand it: what changed, what the underlying documents establish, and where the evidence stops. A claim from a supplier, government agency or researcher should remain attributed to that source. An announcement, a test and an operational deployment are different stages.

We link to supporting material so readers can check the basis of a report. Current publishing checks require at least two substantive sources cited in the article, a supported news date, and an explanation that adds useful context beyond a recap. Missing facts should remain missing; they are not grounds to invent a number, consequence or recommendation.

How coverage is produced

This is an automated publication. Software collects public source material and assists with drafting, editorial review and publishing. House-desk bylines identify that process; they do not represent fictional human reporters or claim interviews, site visits or independent tests that did not happen. Automated checks can still miss mistakes.

Photographs carry source and license information. A file photograph illustrates context and does not establish what happened in the reported event.

Corrections and contact

To flag an error, use the contact page and include the article URL, the disputed passage and supporting evidence. Our publishing and corrections policy describes the checks used for new coverage. Older material may be withdrawn for verification; publication volume takes second place to supported reporting.
